Is The Gloriana really coming to Brentford?
I posted back in July "Come on Brentford - Richmond don't want to house the beautiful barge "Gloriana" - why don't you offer to make a home for her on Lot's Ait? Surely room could be found on there for a suitable boathouse. It would give people a real reason to visit Brentford - a great tourist attraction. The footbridge is in place, the existing Waterman's could be developed to house the ticket office, information centre with a restaurant etc etc. A great opportunity - grab it!:It seems the Council are seriously considering this - see the new Autumn 2014 propaganda magazine "Hounslow Matters" on page 5. Hope the 3 paragraphs under Bring The Gloriana Back are not just nie sounding padding and that Council Leader Cllr Steve Curran is really doing this.
