Brentford's Golden Mile>

We read from Kath Richardson's front page story that a select few were invited to the Civic Centre to be shown the Council's plans for the Golden Mile.Who were those lucky people?  Were they people who appear on this Forum to chat about Golden Mile matters?  Were there any historians in attendence?  Any of our Councillors who rarely appear on the Forum?Maybe the Brentford Chamber of Commerce....but they rarely appear on the Forum especially as their own website is more pictorially active these day.So what Jim? Get on with your hobbies.

Thanks for correcting my series of typed in the dark literals, Jim.I wonder why only local people of various backgrounds rich and poor are saying just what I said, but not the politicians who are supposed to reflect the views of the local populus.?

A more accurate vison would be the "Golden Pockets" for those involved with such a myopic vision rose tinted with £ signs .  It's difficult to see where any benefits will go other than into developers and their associates accounts.As usual no proper vision of basic infrastructure being put in place first. Or how the rest of the towns insignificant residents will be affected.There's nothing new here, most of the good aspects have been mooted for at least 30 years. Ever since the Firestone debacle.The new aspects are a disgrace. Why are these people hellbent on inappropriate over dense deveopments?Money over common sense and quality of life. I would love to know just who it is who get invited to all these back slapping PR puffs.Mary MacLeods visits with 'top' names are always shrouded in secrecy and with selected guests.A practice the both Stalin and Hitlers mob used to full effect. So much for democracy.I would love to know just who are the people behind this rather grotesque and brutalist vision of Brentford which is even more outdated than the horrific ideas of the 1960's which has left scars all over Brentford.I see the 'vision' seems to be devoid of houses with gardens, proper open spaces and places to park cars and marshall HGVs.Top marks to the remedials in charge for consistency...again.
