Perhaps businesses would not be so snobby about Brentford if it were re-named Brentford on Thames, as was Stained. Food, for thought?

Classic Nigel! 'Stained' (sic) was part of the historic County of Middlesex before going over to the other side (Surrey) a few years ago. For reference Valerie it is now Staines-Upon-Thames!

Ditto for every up themselves estate agent, supermarket, et al who all practice this inverted snobbery. Tesco and ASDA spring to mind, just two of the offenders who are all trying to wipe Isleworth off the map.

Good idea.Fullers have really shot themselves in the foot this time.Maybe if Hounslow fined estate agents and developers under the trade descriptions act (TfL did for a similar misrepresentation some years ago)that would drive the message home.Kew is in another county - SurreyBrentford is in Middlesex and the unchartered county town which should have happened after Westminster became a city and was incorporated into London. It's why Brentford was left out of the London postal districts is not W4 and Chiswick W5
