Brentford Sunday Market

I think  this is great and hope it's a success for the stallholders. Bearing in mind what great quality food and drinks are available I wonder why no retailers offering the same sort of range and quality are taking space in the High Street?

I am glad that we have the range of stalls we have now. I get fed up when little markets or 'craft' fayres are set up and its just full of old tatt, and second hand clothes trading as vintage..Yes, some of the produce is rather expensive, and it would certainly attract more visitors if we had a more diverse range of products and prices so as not to alienate a large majority of people on smaller budgets.It is a great meeting place, and everyone seems to be in a kind of 'holiday' mood. It gives the town a more 'village' atmosphere.A short walk from my home, and a cup of coffee on a sunday I haven't made myself is one of the joys of (my) life!!

I would agree with David that there is not yet the greater range and affordability I too would like to see.  Having said that the number of stalls has grown, as has the footfall - and we are achieving the quality of trader contribution that we always believed would make this market viable.  More affordable veg and meat is available from other traders on the high street (7 days a week), so on a personal level I tend to mix my shopping basket by supporting these businesses along with selective purchases from market traders.  I particular enjoy the changing range of street food and a good coffee on a Sunday lunchtime.Kind regards,AndrewChair, Brentford High Street Steering Group(Operators of Brentford Market)

This market has shrunk in the last twelve months and is rather expensive when compared to Ealing Farmer's market where four meat stalls and three vegetable purveyors complete.When I visited in September greengages were £4.50 a kilo.It is appealing to a small cross section of Brentford residents.
