Dame Ellen Macarthur

How about that young woman?   What a great sight, to see her coming into Cornwall surrounded by all the small boats; it was very, very moving.While she was on her epic journey, there was an occasional crack on some tv shows about her  'snivelling' on board her lonely craft, well I hope those creeps (usually 'comedians') are eating their greasy caps.I think she has always been great, is great, and can never lose her place as top of the sailing elite.  As Elizabeth I often did, I think Elizabeth II should do the "Arise, Dame Macarthur" on board Ellen's beautiful craft. Three cheers..........

What a lovely bit of news........one up for the young generation!Anyone who goes out alone in the vast open unfriendly sea has nothing but praise and admiration from me, and I'm glad that her achievement has been rightly recognised. Three cheers again, I say

Ann: Yes an amazing achievement..and she's still only in her twenties.Not being a sailor of the high seas, its difficult to fully appreciate what she has done,and anxiety and tensions. Seeing her repair a generators was a task that would have defeated me..to start with!B&Q must be well pleased....
