Recycling

We at Holland Gardens (172 apartments) have yet to see the Christmas tree recycling done, and are now simply throwing bottles, cardboard and paper into the trash bins because of no pickups by the Houslow Council recycing team.We have been in touch with them via the email and have received resposes our emails have been received, yet still we have Christmas trees and overflowing recycling bins.Are we the only ones? Has the recycling been cancelled?Anyone on the council out there??

"So why is there so much difficulty providing the containers and the collections?"Yes it is good to see the people of Brentford trying so hard to make more and people aware of what can be done with a little effort!  Its such a pity the Council is so badly run and can't buy into these schemes.

I just put signs on the Bins on behalf of the URA asking residents not to use these bins until further notice and i got rid of all the black bags around the bin by Easedale by putting them in the rubbish bin so the area looks tidy. I have asked the EMO to ask the caretakers to monitor the areas and ensure they stay clean.

Same on Ivybridge, Cardboard Recycling bin's overflowing. I have reported to recycling, SITA and Local Councillors. I have asked our EMO to have the caretakers to clean up around the bin's and place signs on them asking residents to use other bin's on the estate until these bin's are emptied which they have agreed to do.

I'm trying Photobucket for the first time.  If this comes out as it should it will show the West Middlesex estate in Isleworth in all its glory.  Although a doormat outside our front door is considered a fire hazard which must be removed immediately, apparently this isn't.

Not collected more than yes collected. I got this information from our Concierge:Scheduled days for collection are:– Mondays - paper, bottles, tin cans- Tuesdays - plastics- Thursdays - cardboard Therefore Monday paper etc collections for Jan 2015 should have been 05,12,19,26- NO COLLECTIONS IN THE MONTH OF JAN -Tuesday plastics should have been 06,13,20,27 Jan- A COLLECTION WAS MADE 21 JanThursday cardboard should have been 08,15,22,29 Jan- COLLECTIONS WERE MADE 16,30 Jan As you can see from the above 3 collections in a month. We have had to throw all excess paper, bottles and tin into the landfill waste because it is the only way it is collected.Furthermore our Concierge not only have their emails to the Council ignored but also have to put up with aggressive drivers when they finally show up.Hounslow Council, what has gone wrong??

Yes this Council seems unable to co-ordinate an effective management plan. Why on earth they can't just follow the lead of some other properly run London Councils I really don't know.

Today at Busch Corner I noticed that the rubbish bags that are dumped there on a daily basis contain the printed words "Bags for flats above shops."I thought this was the problem that "wheelie bins" were supposed to stop?JL.

The recycling at my place has been picked up and cleared of all mess. Plus the following day another lorry arrived to take away all the build up that residents had saved and had filled the bins up once they had been emptied. One of my main concerns is that this service is run by a contractor and no one checks to see if the work has been done.

I totally agree with WILLIAN PRENTICE WE SHOULD ALL VOTE THESE USELESS CURRENT COUNCILLORS OUT  BRENTFORD STREETS ARE FILTHY WITH RUBBISH EVERYWHERE AND IT GETS WORST ON RE-CYLING DAYS WHEN THESE USELESS WORKERS DROP RUBBISH AND WALK OVER IT. HOUNSLOW COUNCIL IS A LABOUR RUN DISGUSTING COUNCIL AND HOPEFULLY THE BRENTFORD PEOPLE WILL VOTE THE LOT OUT AND HOPEFULLY RUTH CADBURY WILL NEVER GET THE JOB AS THE NEXT MP THE THOUGHT OF THAT MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL.

Best bet is to vote the current councillors out at the first opportunity and pick a better alternative. This is all party led rubbish by some real morons.Remember, it's not difficult to collect when the homeowner does most of the sorting anyway (more advice from LBH would be appreciated if they are target led).I fell like giving up. In fact I feel like a glass of red, that'll do for the moment.Now for a traditional seance - is anybody there?

Our street is usually well kept and has not been swept since before Christmas.St Paul's park does usually have the litter bins emptied but the paths are strewn with detrius and the alley footpaths are thick sludge from autumn leavesOn top of that a faulty gate in the kids playground has still not been fixed properly ( 4 years now) and three regularly reported street lights remain unrepaired.It's pointless reporting now as nothing ever gets done and the online systen is useless for unmarked streetlights in alleys as it won't record the location.

Join the club. I have spoken to Hounslow on this subject for the last year. The past five weeks is a nightmare. When you think Hounslow get money from recycling saves on our council tax paying out for landfill and income from revenue. Plus I understand that we have to put so much in to recycling by some law? Back to Hounslow recycling. I was promised the recycling bins near me would be emptied by 1730 last Thursday. What to make a guess, yes still there. For the past four weeks every thing has gone to landfill, we have to now where else to put the stuff. I live behind you on Haverfields so if 172 appts is not getting picked up and the mess it leaves think of the mess from thousands .
