Isleworth Christmas Market 2014

I think we all agree that the Isleworth Christmas Market last year was a great event but do all the banners advertising it really still need to be hanging off local lamp posts nearly three months later?Makes the area look tacky in my opinion

What a bizarre exchange in the two replies above.Councillors don't hang banners. Not sure what they do do, but reading this list each week, their role seems to be simply to annoy the residents with perverse judgements.Anyway, I agree with the original posting. Christmas Market advertising still hanging in February is not good, and shows a disregard for the neighbourhood.I would have thought that's obvious (but perhaps not…), and the person who should remove it is surely the person who put it up. Name names….As for the market itself, I didn't go, but it sounds it bit bizarre (given the post immediately above mine), if some shoppers are welcome, and others are not. Are we turning into the London Borough of Walford -NOW GET OUTTA MY PUB!

The feedback I received from the event (I didn't attend because I didn't consider I would be welcome) is that it was far more commercially focused than the previous one had been, with local and not so local businesses taking the opportunity to market themselves and their produce.The exception was the part of it which centered around the Public Hall and which was organised by The Isleworth Society and the Friends of IPH group (which I did attend).  Sadly this did not feature on most of the promotional material and was even removed from the main poster advertising the event, for reasons which were never made clear.  Notwithstanding this it was very well attended and engendered a real community feel at a time when the whole concept of a thriving independent community in the area is being put to the sword.

Agree, but the fact is Paul as you well know, no matter how successful the event was councillors also need to be concentrating on more pressing matters, instead of waltzing around for effect.
