CPZ

The CPZ isn't in force yet (though you wouldn't know that from the signs) but it does seem to have had an immediate effect.  Brook Road South is half empty in the afternoons and also plenty of spaces along that road and Clifden Road the past two evenings.  I notice there are lots of cars without permits but difficult to know if these are residents who haven’t got their permits yet or infiltrators?

Yes. This morning there was a grey Ford with a ticket near my house.

Anyone seen any traffic wardens or cars with tickets?  The last couple of nights I've come home between 7pm and 8pm to see several cars parked without permits but not one has a parking ticket? This was one of the concerns with the evening restriction that parking wardens do not work at that hour so the restriction is pointless.

Well, the CPZ has been in place for a week. Plus a couple weeks before when all signage was in place but the CPZ was not being enforced. Despite some concerns that there is more cars than parking space and the like, the CPZ seems to work. Every day now I'm able to park in front of my house or very close to it. Even today (BFC match day) I returned home at 12:20 (kickoff was 12:15) and parked without a problem. Thanks to everyone who made the CPZ happen!

You're lucky. While we wait for the CPZ we voted for last year, Whitestile Road (Is it Brentford? Is it Ealing? Does the Council really care?) is about to be sandwiched between two CPZ zones, one which already exists from Enflield Road down to Easbourne and a new zone in South Ealing. I've emailed the Traffic Department but have yet to receive a reply. I copied in our local Councillors but won't hold my breath for their support. Does anyone have any good contacts whom I could email or phone to move things along? Parking has already become even more problematic in anticipation of the new South Ealing restrictions.

The new CPZ is in force from today.  Will the parking attendants be out in force on the dot of 10:00am?

I received my permits on Thursday. The renewal date is 26/04/16, so I'm guessing it starts 27/04/15.

Oh, and byt the way BFC twitted this morning that there WILL BE CPS in place today, is it is a match day.

I think there is no FORMAL extension. I think all it is that the CPZ is in place, but will not be ENFORCED until 27(?)April.

I know. It's all rather confusing. I'm alright as it happens as I have my permit but I realise that not everybody is in this position.

Why isn't any extension being formally announced by the Council?  Shouldn't they be covering the signs up?

I spoke in passing to Steve Curran today and he said that the CPZ has now been put back to the 27th. Again, I hope that I have remembered the date correctly. I can't say that in all of this I have seen the information of either extension in 'official' writing.

I did email the Council about the sign on Monday but have not had a response. Although they did send someone round to look at it who looked suitably baffled (and the guys putting it in couldn't stop giggling at the stupidity of it) I'm unaware of any action being taken to have it removed or repositioned.However someone has taken it upon themselves to remove the sign so it is now just a 3 ft pole sticking out. Utterly pointless but less dangerous than the sign itself

The sign outside the Griffin, on Brook Road South, is very very silly. It is only 3 foot off the ground and ripe for a claim, as someone will walk into it, very soon.

I was worried about receiving my permit on time so I did bombard both council and Serco with e-mail and online messages. Eventually I received this response from Serco:Dear Sir/Madam,Thank you for your e-mail.Your permit was sent on the 08/04/2015 and should now be in your possession.If not, please ring us on 020 8453 3412 and let us know.Kind regardsClinton ScottCustomer Services OfficerParking Permits SercoI had received my permit by the time of this response so I did not have to contact them, however for those who haven’t the phone number above could be useful.

Serco are a huge company running some massive and innovative Government contracts.  You’d think they could run a “simple” CPZ permit system a bit more efficiently. You should be able to apply for permits online with Serco tapping into existing vehicle registration and insurance databases etc to check ownership.  And why can you no longer apply in person or at least have a ‘phone number to contact them rather than an email address that they don't respond to?  Or webchat?Are Serco just inept or is Hounslow Council paying so little for the contract this is the best they can do?

Still no sign of my permit. over 3 weeks now.Never a reply from email enquiries. Plenty of others likewise so not panicking just yet.!!!

I dont think it is just the new permits that they are having trouble processing. .I noticed a car in Somerset rd with 'permit in the post'sign in the car next to the expired one. The same happened to me 2years ago, (Brentside) I sent my cheque and paperwork etc as I had done many times before but it arrived a week after old one expired.. I was having to leave my home before 8am and not back til after 6.30pm. My day off I had to put a parking ticket £7.50 for most of the day and park in another road as we don't have non resident parking in my road and it would be me I'm sure that the traffic warden wdnt take pity on and give me a ticket (though a blind eye is taken to the family next door with 3 blue badges??? Hnmmm)

HiMy car is parked but with no permit and I live in the area. I believe the scheme has started, but my car reg is on a list to stop any fines if someone tries to give me a ticket. You can send a email to Serco with "Urgent" on it, and they will action rigth away.
