Tesco?

I only shop there if I have to and because it is so close.  A number of reasons why, mainly to do with pricing.  Yellow labels which are used to denote a special offer were being used with ordinary prices on goods which were not on special offer. The end of shelves 'offer' stand had products which were near enough the ones on offer, but weren't on offer so unless you stood and studied the stand, took them to the checkout for a price check or asked to speak to the manager to complain only to be told he was perfectly within his rights to align non offer goods against the offer prices if he so chose...which means it was not a mistake but in my opinion a deliberate attempt to confuse the shopper.I gave up buying fresh vegetables as they were often far from fresh, mouldy even.  One day standing by the carrots a young worker popped up and took a plant water spray from the end of the display.  The person I was speaking to, a very sensible lady high up in the education department, could only stutter 'you are not going to spray those carrots with water, are you' to which he replied he had been told to do so.  The water gave the illusion that the carrots were fresher than the grey mouldy finish before he sprayed.  Goodness knows how old the water was in the bottle.

I have been taken to goods a number of times by Tesco (Osterley) staff and was helped by a very nice young lady on the Customer Service desk this morning.

It would indeed be refreshing if tesco Twickenham could employ some management with brains. The other day they elected to hold a staff meeting of about 10 of them at the entrance to the store so the pthe pesky customers had to try squeeze past them. Perhaps they were trying to tell us something?

The Asda "Twickenham" branch has without a shadow of doubt the worse possible customer service anywhere in the West London area and that is saying something especially as they have strong competition even from those in the same paradeI can honestly say that at least 70% of the staff just stand around chatting rather then help their colleagues struggling with large queues and a please or thank you is as rare as hens teethMany times I have just dumped my basket on the floor and walked out as do many other customers and a manager can never be found when requested and one I did track down myself in the store was about 17 years old and just went bright red and kept saying sorry sorry and was obviously being taken for an idiot by the more senior aged staff in the store

Long given up on Tesco Osterley. They seem to think they are doing you a favour by letting you shop there. No one smiles, no one wants to help with only the perfunctory nod towards items you are trying to find.I now use Waitrose, and have monitored the bills VERY closely. I spend maybe a £1-1.50 more on my shop. Every member of staff wants to help, you get a (nice) free coffee and the quality is noticeably better.If Tesco invested in teaching staff to say 'please' and 'thank you' rather than handing out silly little 'how did we do?' cards, it would be a start.

Don't get my sons started on ASDA on Ivybrdge, the place is a nightmare and then some. They have an in-store bakery but I've lost count of the times they go there to get a baguette in the morning and they have NO bread, for weeks they had none of their own plastic carrier bags, and they are sick and tired of the one counter for bill paying, lottery, cigarettes, parcels and 'customer service' - you'll be lucky! How they are still in business is a miracle. Lidl and Aldi's customer service is brilliant, these big shops have grown arrogant, now the customer is finally fighting back!

I have used their home delivery service as they sent some money off vouchers- every time I have had a delivery ( about 5 times now ) I have explained to the driver I am recovering from a broken shoulder. .you would think he would help? No lazy sod put the crates on my kitchen floor and watched whilst I struggled to empty them.On one occasion I ordered cat food in the pouches. .the boxes were covered in washing liquid ( didn't notice when he delivered them but he must have ) so I took pouches out if the boxes and they were stinking and covered in live maggots..I got a refund but had to get someone to go and get me some more. Tonight my sister (different address ) had a delivery 2 hours late...his excuse was his sat nav was broken. .she suggested tesco get him ab a-z  ..his smart arse answer was they are not allowed to drive whilst reading???This has happened to her twice now.Neither of us will order online again from themSainsbury man is very courteous, your shopping is put in your kitchen table or wherever you want.When I'm finally able to drive my car again I will be going to lidl &aldi and tesco can sod off..I don't care about their profits/loss..

....and the bar code, which you have to have a magnifying glass to read, is at the bottom of the label on the shelf behind the long plastic cover...so to take it out to check the code you find the long plastic cover detaches itself too.I was short changed by the self service till at the Tesco beside Ashford Hospital.  I never check the change from those tills but it gave me a 20p piece instead of a £1 coin.Many of the check out 'girls' at Osterley have been with the store since it opened and are lovely, I am often over charged by some of the newer cashiers, normally because they put things through twice.

I rarely go to Tesco’s these days and when I do I end up regretting it! The labels for ‘special offer’ deals are often  on the correct shelves so unless you cross reference each bar code on the item against the yellow label,  you risk getting ripped off.The staff at Tesco ‘Twickenham’ seem to think customers are an unwelcome irritation who get in the way of their yacking to colleagues or packing shelves at the most stupid times.Rushed in and bought a meal deal the other day but was overcharged and the cashier  argued with me despite two people behind me in the queue agreeing that I was correct. After 10 minutes a supervisor eventually ageed I had been overcharged and the cashier  sulkily refunded me .Rushed in to buy some panadol at Tesco Feltham last week and was told by cashier  that I had to pay at the ‘Pharmacy’ section . Never heard that one before because the Panadol  was just an off the shelf item. Cashier  agreed it was weird but said there was nothing she could do about it because her till prevented her  from scanning it.I could go on and on but is it worth it?  My choice is that I never go to Tesco’s if I can help it

Asda are just as bad.They once had an end of aisle offer stand for their own brand snack salami, but had filled the shelves with a well known branded product in near identical packaging - a bit of a con rather than a bit of an animal!There is also a certain brand of biscuits which they normally sold for 98p, but occasionally put on offer at 50p. As I like these biscuits, I check every week to see if they are on offer and was recently surprised to see them labelled as £1.19 or an offer of 2 for £2, making the offer price 2p per packet higher than the price just seven days earlier.

I too only go to Tesco as it's close and easy to park, and count Morrisons as little more than a larger than average corner shop. The quality of fruit and veg has certainly gone down and I find I'm unable to buy more and more basic grocery items so have to do a second shop elsewhere.

I can only speak for myself but since we've had both a Lidl and an Aldi local our weekly shop at Tesco has nearly halved. I rarely buy fruit or veg., meat, bread, cheese, and loads of other stuff now, the quality is good if not better than Tesco at these two shops, and certainly cheaper. Tesco only have themselves to blame for taking us all for granted for so long.
