Its a shame there is so little joined up coordination in this and other boroughs.Guy has pointed out that a pathway, lit by council street lighting, and on the ordnance survey map since before the creation of St Pauls Rec, is queried by LBH as to who owns it. It matters not, it is a public thoroughfare and maintained by the council, like many patches of land, hedges and open gardens all over the UK.I think what is meant is who is responsible, Highways or Parks. This is where the whole state of affairs descends into lunacy and how we end up with such neglect, half cocked remedies and such poor quality.St Paul's rec is a classic example for all to see. Currently, on the Park side of the railings, the grass is cut, (of sorts) and the weeds dealt with. On the other side of the time expired railings, the weeds are rife and undealt with. For ten years now, LBH have not managed to outsource a contract that ensures footpaths are swept and cleaned properly. Simply because the demarcation between one path and another has been descended into a clueless mire.So rather than the simple common sense of clearing detrius and litter in the same place at the same time, One side will be done on day 'A" and the other on Day 'Y' by which time, said detrius will have been shifted by wind, or added to by 'Brentford's finest' to the cleared location. It is insane and ultimately why we have a constant state of tatty streets and parks, and has to be costly as well.Even more insane, is that not one, but two organisations make enough money out of it to pay directors six figure salaries.
