Is anybody there?

Yet again on Tuesday some of our recycling was not taken, sick and tired of reporting these missed collections, if they collect from every house how on earth can you keep missing people out? Here we are three days on and after two e-mails and God alone knows how many Tweets the recycling still sits on our front path. Someone going by the name of Simone e-mailed and said she'd 'escalated' this and marked a reminder as 'urgent' that was yesterday, so quite clearly that system really works well! What is the point of promising to pick up a missed collection by 5.30.p.m. the next day when you never, ever, manage that? Or are we just communicating with machines now? To cap it all they've just delivered another blue paper recycling bag when we got the ordered replacement, that the recyclers lost for us, over a week ago! Prats hardly fits the bill.

People often distinguish between local and general elections, I had a friend who voted Labour locally and Tory nationally - don't ask! Also there is the groundwork by the various parties to get their vote out, still it was a close run thing, so I suspect Hounslow's attitude to residents hardly helped Ruth.

Is it only me that finds it strange that despite Hounslow Council being universally slated that the people have elected a Hounslow councillor as their MP?Can't see the logic myself.

I am not after a prize but I would be interested in the reason why the rubbish is dumped in any particular 'hotspot'.  Why Busch corner then?

One of the worst rubbish hot spots is outside the shops at Busch Corner where even food stuffs are discarded. There is a similar situation outside the shops in Twickenham Road between Linkfield and St. John's Road.JL.

"Has nobody contacted one of the councillors about these two disastrous situations"I would but life is too short to waste time with these people who cannot lower themselves to communicate with the electorate, as I have said before they are the problem rather than the solution.

Took ages and several reminders to get the replacement bins I ordered after the windy collection day a few weeks ago.  The council also did a great deal of 'escalating' etc of my emails.  in the end I supposed that the chosen way the suppliers had to deliver the new bins was on the next collection day, blow the three working day promise.  I borrowed space in a neighbours green box while we were waiting.

I despair I really do, they just seem incapable of picking up from every house, although I reported this on Tuesday our collection day, the recycling still sits on the path, it will be there until next week's collection. I'd say you should contact your local councillors but bearing in mind who they are - don't waste your energy. I've received a tweet (one of about eight) telling me my missed collection has been passed to the people managing the service . Surely a contradiction there? 'manage?' 'service?' - nah!

The recycling bins on the West Middlesex estate have not been emptied for many weeks now.  Possibly one of the reasons for this is that somebody insists on regularly putting the wrong recyclables into the wrong bins, sometimes liberally blended with household waste (we caught staff from the nursery doing just this yesterday - a fine example to the kids), but if that is what is stopping the recycling team from taking them they are destined just to sit there forever, overflowing with threadbare mattresses and expired nappies until they biodegrade, some 30,000 years into the hereafter.There would appear to be much circumstantial evidence to suggest that the incidence of arbitrary dumping has increased significantly since the arrival of the wheelie bins.  Is the local authority monitoring this in any way I wonder?
