There are two bed flats in GWQ with more than five children crammed in them.There are others with people sleeping in shifts. Right under our noses and it's not just the social housing bit this is occurring in. This is all too late. Myself and others were dismissed when raising the issue of schools, basic amenities, parking and so on at this and other developments.Dismissed by those "who know best". Some other boroughs seem to manage getting these things incorporated and can be all part of the stipulations for permission. The rub is it slows down things as developers are almost always reluctant to concede. Where there's a will there's a way.But with certain councillors too often not even knowing where the site they are voting on actually is, there's not much in the way of hope.So what are we reduced to? Building on public open spaces.Quality of life for families in small flats is pretty poor, even in the posher ones.No useable open space and proper factored in amenities is simply stupid.

Sure. Let's hope that the residents of this new development (as it is mainly one and two beds) will have almost no kids so no additional playgrounds and schools are required. And will not be ill and require medical help. And will have no cars and use just public transport and cycle... Let's hope...

The new stadium, hotel and additional housing will place huge additional pressures on parking in the SOG area. Local Cllrs have requested that a fresh CPZ consultation of residents in that area be carried out. Some resident in Wellesley Rd have petitioned to have the hours of their existing CPZ extended. Meanwhile can anyone tell me where the children of new residents will be schooled or who will meet their medical needs?

“Not sure why it's BFC's fault.”BFC could support LBH in paying for match day CPZs, could put pressure on TFL for better public transport. BFC could make arrangements with car park owners around to allow football supporters to park there. BFC could encourage their supporters (via notes on tickets, emails, announcements, signs posters, etc) to use public transport.

What went through my mind was the substantial reduction in residential units now being proposed at detail stage, and the implications that would have upon any possibility of a financial clawback relating to the lack of affordable housing.Lack of parking for the stadium is only right and proper in this day and age. Level of parking for residents to me is also perfectly appropriate for the location and the unit mix (i.e. mainly 1 and 2 beds) proposed.

Many fans will walk further than that. In any event, if it is a hike too far, there are 3 buses (65, 237, 267) to transport them.

And thats the best they can come up with? What a shame.More toshed together concrete with adornments. Take a look at similar stuff now approaching 10 years old. Starting to look weathered and tatty, Upkeep unaffordable, service charges unaffordable.And this passes as 'luxurious'.But the distinct lack of parking makes it obvious it's for foreign investors not actual community residents after all they may complain about the noise and have activities at the stadium severely curtailed.

Much needed homes or a skip yard - your choice.It's not as if the vistas are anything to write home about at the moment is it?Very few new stadia have parking for fans except for a limited number of disabled spaces.The new stadium is adjacent to Kew Bridge station and with five minutes walk of six bus routes - far better public transport provision than many.

Horrible.Who wants this kind of thing? Yep, dead right, nobody.Except the developers and the council??? Needless to say the people who buy into the dream will have good reason to treasure their investment in "Dubai - In Brentford".I'm just waiting for the plans to put up huge protective domes over all these tower blocks where the air inside will be filtered and pure whilst the remaining scavengers of the local population, people and foxes, live off the scraps of this graciousness and breath filth.So you could say I am less than impressed with the proposals, and I live over the other side of the GWR.

Is it so difficult to understand Tony? BFC forced residents around Griffin Park into CPZ. They just never cared about parking for residents. Indeed, why should they? And - yes, now parking around Griffin Park is ok, although we have to pay for it. And - yes, I'd rather pay than drive around trying to find where to park.Now - with the lack of parking facilities around the new grounds - BFC will be forcing new neighbours into CPZ.

It's not been a good day today,firstly Sepptic Bladder seems to have avoided being arrested yet again,then I have a butchers at BrentfordTW8 and find that Mr. Alex Shpinkov is shedding crocodile tears for the good folk of Strand on the Green because a new CPZ may be in the offing due to the new BFC stadium. ********************* It's only ** ** ** 25 days since you posted thus Alex! "Well, the CPZ has been in place for a week. Plus a couple weeks before when all signage was in place but the CPZ was not being enforced. Despite some concerns that there is more cars than parking space and the like, the CPZ seems to work. Every day now I'm able to park in front of my house or very close to it. Even today (BFC match day) I returned home at 12:20 (kickoff was 12:15) and parked without a problem. Thanks to everyone who made the CPZ happen!"What's that all about,asterisks fail me?

"If a CPZ on SOTG does prove necessary, it could be restricted to match days."It might be worth approaching the club for support on this. The one we have around Twickenham Stadium is wholly funded by the RFU and has been a big success.

I think these 161 spaces are for the BFC personel, not for football supporters. Parking arrangements for supporters are yet unclear to me. The unfortunate thing is that all this will lead to CPZ in the Strand-on-the-Green - the only CPZ-free place left in the vicinity, which will hurt the pubs and cafes along the river.
