Will Ruth Cadbury now step down as a Councillor?

I would have thought a decision would have been made by now especially as she could if she wished stay as a Councillor for another three years and claim the allowances as well as her MP`s salary

More than embarrassing, these things are usually indicative of how the power balance rests within the local party at any particular point in time.  I would love to be a fly on the wall at informal party gatherings in the west of the borough these days.

Only two BME councillors out of 10 despite about 50% BME councillors? Bit embarrassing, I'd say.

In fairness to Ruth I have always found her approachable when I meet her (unlike some of her more arrogant colleagues) and she has always responded to my emails. However, I greeted the news that her fellow Ward Councillor Myra Savin had been appointed Deputy Mayor with a snort of derision. So THAT'S what the invisible woman has been up to! Whether it's CPZ on my street or Ballymore's plans for the High Street, not once has she ever responded to my emails to acknowledge my concerns.

Hear hear! I emailed Ruth a couple of times about issues concerning local residents and did not get an acknowledgment let alone any response.

I think Ruth also needs to wake up to the fact that perhaps her majority would have been a lot healthier had she been prepared to take on some of her colleagues on the council, which she either couldn't, or more than likely wouldn't, do.She seemed very reluctant to get involved in local issues and actively avoided people around here who wanted some engagement and answers.

One or two of the candidates standing for Leadership  of the Labour Party are making some real sense to me. I can only hope that Ruth will follow their lead and take some advice and  listen to what the citizens want and start taking some affirmative action as an MP. By this I mean she has an opportunity to take a firm stance with our hopeless Council  which has fallen to an all time low. Hopefully when she sees the bigger picture from Westminster she will realise that the despotic arrogant leadership of Hounslow  does not endear the party to many  in the east of the borough

There appears to me to be a marked under-representation of councillors from the western end of the borough on that list.  I sincerely hope that the UKIP connection which emerged shortly before last year's local elections has not had any bearing on this.

Don't know about that yet, but Ed Mayne is back in the cabinet, a reward for his brown nosing I should think, certainly not for his capabilities.
