Snap, Jim! delivered this morning, without the other advertising gumph which arrived a couple of hours later. The idea of an information magazine is a good one - but they still appear to be spreading out everything thinly, to fill up the pages in each issue? Once a Quarter with more in depth information might be better? The local papers, and of course the local FORUM do a good job covering stories such as the ones contained inside this issue. The article about abandoned cars does not include any contact numbers - and I for one would like to know which number you should ring, as the car is being abandoned in front of you!In the event that my-man-who-hasn't-got-back-to-me (the one who was possibly afflicted by end-of-week-depression) is viewing this comment; to balance out any possible negative vibes he might deduce within this posting, I have to say that The Council does a first-rate job of removing cars when they are reported to them. Tis true.I was a bit perplexed about the boasting on pages 8/9 (two pages). It appears that 67.6% read HM magazine every issue. It is not quite clear whether this was the stale sarnie snafflers after their committee meetings (fill in this questionnaire chaps, before you start on the food); the 4.6 security guards (adding up the part time hours gives the .6); 67.6% of the people who self-pick-up their copy from the Fortress information desk or whether it was made clear to the survey completers that it is issued once a fortnight, before they gave their answer? (e.g. if the copy you hold with the survey inside it, is the only copy you have received, and you don't know that you have missed 11 others, you might be fooled into giving the wrong answer?).I have just had a thought … crumbs! Do you think if we scrabble around and get a full set together, we could make a fortune on e-bay?
