A2Dominion

Seen in Hounslow Chronicle this week, the plan for building on the old Wheelhouse site in Hounslow centre. "The housing association A2Dominion has applied to build 127 homes on the site of the old Wheelhouse store in Bell Rd. Hounslow. The planned building varies in height from six to 11 storeys"."The planned development includes 256 cycle spaces, but no parking spaces for residents other than 13 bays for disabled users".There will be one to three bedroom homes with 41% classed as 'affordable' (whatever that means) and there will be space for offices, shops or other uses on the ground floor. I must say the artist's impression looks bloody awful. Just around the corner the new Civic Centre is to arise on the car park opposite Yates's pub, while the current Civic Centre is to turn into 850 homes! The new Civic Centre will have seven storeys and also incorporate Hounslow library and a basement car park for 45 cars. The 'affordable' element of the new development in Lampton Park is 340 (or 40%) of the total, and Good Luck with ever being able to afford one is all I can say!

Managed to find out from Hounslow that they do not own the boarded-up house on Twickenham Rd. - the landlord is Notting Hill Housing Assn.!!? Since when did former council homes get handed over to housing assns.? What the hell is going on?

I can report a sighting of both Ed Mayne and Sue Sampson at a recent meeting re Redlees Park recently, however they are being extremely cagey, not to say downright secretive about giving any information about the 'working party'/consultation the Great and Dear Leader promised on the Pit Park. They are all just bloody liars. They have even told the Local Government Ombudsman they have set this up - I have told them it simply isn't so, none of their promises have seen the light of day.

Vanessa, I would suggest you watch with interest to see who gets this property when it is eventually allocated.  As will all of us who remember the other one.

Have we still got three councillors in Isleworth as Ed Mayne seems to have completel; vanished over the last few months?Linda and Sue pop up in the papers quite often in some photo shoot or other but you never see Ed with them?

This is pretty disgraceful from a supposedly Labour council, why no public housing element? And they are STILL leaving their own properties boarded up and empty - there's one on the Twickenham Rd been like it for about a month now, I would have thought you'd get in there and turn it around ready to let a.s.a.p. I have made enquires of the local councillors, but they seem to have developed 'cockin' a deaf 'un' into an art form.

Amen to that.  And "affordable" by the way means they will be available at no more than 80% of the market value.  I wonder how many people in need of social housing in this borough can afford to pay 80% either of the market rent or of the purchase price of one of these properties?

No way should A2Dominion be allowed any planning permission in this Borough until they put their existing stock and handling of tenants and service management into order.They are not fit and proper for purpose.This has fast become a gravy train organisation feeding off taxpayers money and treating tenants and leaseholders all over London appallingly.There are a catalogue of issues with some awful treatment of tenants that Hounslow, Ealing, Hillingdon, and Bexley MPs and councillors know full well about.Yet the lack of action and the methods A2D use are not far short of scandalous.This is a chance for the Council Leader to put his money where his mouth is and really deal with bad landlords rather than just the maverick minnows.This is also a chance to send out a clear message to Housing Associations that deregister as charities and hive off the cash that becoming the very types of landlord that HAs were created to eliminate is not acceptable.
