New posters on this forum

Others, like me, may have noticed the plethora of new posters on this forum bemoaning the decision to abandon plans to appropriate a chunk of Brent Lea rec for the purposes of building a school.I'm sure everybody will agree that, notwithstanding our opposing views on this one particular topic, it is encouraging to have so many new contributors to this forum.Especially seeing that, as I'm reliably advised, at least four of the five were not even resident in this constituency as recently as twelve months ago.I do hope they will hang around and contribute to this forum once this particular issue is done with.  Don't you?

It's a pity that this and other forums are made up of the same people.But it's kind of real life reflection on how apathetic people are.Many of my neighbours moan incessantly about everything from aircraft noise to dogs mess and potholes et all, but ask them to write, complain and get involved and they run a mile. Some are terrified of authority, others always expect someone else to do it for them. Even I've done that a few times!It's a shame because some have some really good knowledge, views and opinions which are not heard.Not to mention the great many who do not have proper online access and are being frozen out of all manner of things.On the other hand I do know a couple of people who have been blocked from this forum simply because they share an office and their ip addresses are the same.Even though they have written to and tried to contact the operators of this site. Neither have ever had a response and simply can't be bothered anymore.So my wife sometimes uses my log in as me as does my daughter. Albeit very rarely.  I think it is stiffling or stagnating these forums a little.

It's funny you should post that. I've had a suspicion that one new poster, despite claiming to have lived in Brentford for years, actually lives in Sevenoaks, Kent! Unfortunately I can't find any conclusive proof of this.
