Friends of St Paul's Recreation Ground

Following on from Brent Lea's success just putting out feelers to see if there's any interest in forming a Friends Group for St Paul's?

There used to be a Friends Group for St Pauls years ago but disappeared even though Matt Harmer (ex councillor) kept it in focus.  For when you get further down the line I chair the Hounslow Friends Forum (i.e. most of the Friends Groups meet to discuss what seem to be similar problems) and are a link to the council and contractors.  Have not had a meeting lately only because we have all been so busy.  You can use me as a link.  Linda Massey Friends of Boston Manor Hon. Bit of an update our numbers are now up to 24 which is great. Ideally it would be great if we can get our founding member numbers up to around 50 to really get the ball rolling, so I would urge you to spread the word to all your friends and neighbours to try and achieve this. Please ask them to drop me a mail should they wish to be involved. I'm hoping we can have our inaugural meeting in 2/3 weeks time and if we can be approaching this sort of number by then I think we can have a good well rounded conversation to establish your thoughts, concerns and hopes for the future of St Paul's. In the meanwhile if you would like to send me your thoughts I will collate and establish an agenda for our meeting so we can be proactive from the off.Do please spread the word as I do think we should be looking for a group total of around of 100 if we are to have a voice which will be heard.I'll keep you informed as to our progress but as mentioned please do let me have your thoughts as to what you'd like to see at St Paul's.Once again thank you all for your support of the Friends of St Paul's.martincase8@gmail.com

Pilot was somewhat bemused when a resident told him they had landed in a dog area festooned with turds. The whole crew had to check their shoes before reboarding the aircraft.!

Yes I am a parent, but I now use Waterman pack, as St Pauls is far to dirty for me. I don't think it safe for my kid...In reality both parks need a big clean up, but from what I can see, the rubbish is mostly from MacDonald's or Morrison's. I did approach someone who was littering, and they were not happy

Most definitely, particularly as the school uses it as sports facility. Are you a parent of a child there? If so perhaps you could rally some support?

I think this should be the intention that St Paul's becomes a community focal point and start to create some pride and affection for what is a great space.

Might be nice to get the school involved too. Lots of willing hands, families involved, build respect and responsibility for local environment...

Thanks for the support, will see if anymore interest on forum if so will follow up with posters - good call re political activists and neutrality.

Think this is a great idea.Might be worth putting up a few posters in the vicinity and steering well clear of all political activists as they tend to put anyone non political off and thus it will be neutral.Then elected representatives can be approached without prejudice when needed.
