Getting specs that are single vision only is fine but you can't get varifocal or bi-focals online, contact lenses are cheaper online - try Postoptics, BUT you have to get an optician to do the eye test and fitting first and all will insist on you buying at least 3 months worth of lenses before you can get the prescription, unless they're hiked up with an online supplier and then you pay through the nose for the test! I don't think that specs are any cheaper now than they were in High St. opticians in spite of all the hype about competition - they just have a cartel to keep prices up. That young lad who is running an online specs business is going in the right direction, he has proved that we're being ripped off.
