Crime on Brentford Dock

Jeffrey S about 11 hours ago0 Anyone currently living on Brentford Dock should be aware that criminals are active, day & night.Bicycles, motor scooters and motorbikes have all been either stolen or attempts to steal them have been made recently.The criminals cover themselves by wearing crash helmets, hoodies etc to avoid recognition on the CCTV system, which then becomes useless, especially at night.The security office is often locked with the guard inside oblivious to what can be happening nearby.So make sure you have adequate insurance and if possible, lock your vehicles up securely.

It *was* a police initiative along those lines but as part of the police cuts a couple of years ago that saw Brentford police station closed it was reorganised so that instead of a dedicated team per ward there are a bunch of coppers working across an area - in particular the leadership is no longer linked to a ward.  They do still exist, though, and there are supposed to be dedicated ward officers around, just in slightly smaller teamshttp://content.met.police.uk/Team/Hounslow/BrentfordCompare this to 2012, when there was an extra PC.http://web.archive.org/web/20120516205028/http://content.met.police.uk/Team/Hounslow/Brentford/TeamThe way the Met seem to organise it locally is a single Inspector covering Syon, Brentford and the three Chiswick wards, and each ward has a sergeant, PC and PCSO.

It's a police initiative called the Safer Neighbourhood Team, Raymond. Usually consists of a Sgt. and a couple or three constables who are tasked with responding to reported crimes in a dedicated area. They were going to call them the Safer Neigbourhood Operations Team but though better of that idea..;-)

The Met Police attended both times my motor scooter was stolen. They give you a Victim Care Card with a Crime/Incident number. And that is about it for them. I assume it gets logged as a local crime, but even they admit that the chances of catching the thieves are minimal. Both times a forensic examination proved useless, as was the CCTV. Surely if the SNT should be involved, the Met Police would tell them?

Is there any SNT in Brentford? Police are not interested to speak to us in GWQ, let alone the SNT! Do they actually exist? If yes, then it would be great to have them to come here and meet with residents.
