Brent river park ...40th anniversary

Well done Ealing for supporting 'bunny park' over the years, and congratulations to the volunteers and community for making it what it is and who have kept it going!When the boys were young we were over there regularly and loved wandering around, playing picnicking and checking out the animals.One of our stories was of the mynah birds.  The park put in a coin train engine beside the ticket offic for the hot cages which went forward and backwards playing a jingle tune. I understand it drove the cashiers mad so it was moved over beside the mynah bird cage, opposite.  Many months later when it wore out and was taken away the mynah birds could be heard mimicking the tune exactly as the train had played note perfect as if a recording was playing.  ;) xxx

Front page and there is a link to their web site from there .... I must try and find the photo of my Father holding my oldest son at around 4 years old, the picture was taken through the cage and captures them in full discussion about the birds inside.

Is there a specific date for the anniversary of its opening Sarah? I too have enjoyed the park from time to time. I have been living in West London since 1977 and my sister June used to work at the park then .I didn't realise that when it had only been open a few years then.
