Windows 10

I am receiving pop ups saying I can upgrade to windows 10 for free.  Any opinions?

I  must admit I was happy with windows XP. Grandchildren pushed me to go forward.

I take the view - rightly or wrongly - that anyone who is sad or desperate enough to delve into my e-mails deserves to be bored stiff for being so nosey! Like Sarah I was told that it would be better to wait a few months until all the hiccups are sorted before installing Windows 10.

I installed it on this for free and after a false start it seems fine. Security issues, who knows. My expectation is that if people are that interested they'll find their way through whatever the operating system.

I wasn't happy at first as I had to install it twice. Now It's fine. I did not pay for  mine as it was programmed to pop up by  my computer engineer, when he repaired my tower last month.

Greetings and thanks, chaps.  Yes, I had the pop up which means I can upgrade for free for a year and all I could deduce from on line advice is it might be better to hold out for a few months so they can patch any issues.  I wonder if it is worth doing so or just chugging along with what we know in the old style windows.  So, David what is the difference and is it worth the change?  Are you pleased with the new software?Jim, there are no circumstances where anyone could possibly be interested in poking around.....waste of time methinks. A friend tells me  that there are security  issues resulting from the installation of Window 10. If you are happy for bods in cyberspace Sarah to be poking their noses into all your pictures, emails and more... just go ahead.It's a pity you haven't had more responses from Brentford's intelligensia..As you query is quite  pertinent  Current Computer Magazines are likely to have articles on the subject.

I upgraded via a pop up three weeks ago. yes it's free but it takes at least three hours. For it to install properly you  must have had windows before. Once installed turn off then turn on you computer. Plus make sure it's a Microsoft site.
