It is hoped that in the field of liaison with the local Police, residents and community groups are aware of the of various ways that they can meet the Inspectors and officers who oversee their sectors, areas and wards....to find out what is going on...and what successes are being achieved. In Brentford and Chiswick, it is understood that the local press journalists have a regular weekly meeting at the Chiswick Sector Station and information is relayed to readers. You will be aware that Brentford Police attend the Isleworth and Brentford Area Committee meetings ..say every two /three months...where there is an opportunity to ask questions about Police matters. Detailed reports(Minutes) of these meetings can be found on the Civic Centre website. But the best forum for making contact with the Police in a quite and dignified manner is at the Hounslow Borough Community's liaison meeting with the Police. The Borough Commander Dr Ali Dizaei attends and seems very approachable together with Inspectors from local Police Stations. Few members of the public attend. and Brentford and Chiswick representatives are very thin on the ground..if they exist at all! Tonight's HBCPCG meeting will parade Residents Groups, four other Hounslow Councillors, and representatives from a wide range of organisations linked to crime and police matters..eg The Probation Service, Neighbourhood watch,Victims of Crime service and many others. If you go to the Hounslow Civic Centre website..click on MEETINGS, go to the index of meetings and find the HBCPCG entry, click on the date 14th March 05, click on AGENDA, and the scroll down to the Police Progress Update report...and you will find very encouraging news about local Police successes.
