How does this work then?

Is Mary Macleod still the prospective MP for the conservatives and working for them in such a role, or does the local group hold another election for that post?I used to receive regular updates and letters from her office and Cllr Matt Harmer used to send a newsletter but as soon as the election results were in they all stopped.

The Conservatives will hold a selection nearer the next general election - probably picking their candidate about a year or so before to get their name known as a 'prospective' candidate, then they become the candidate proper once the election is called. Matt Harmer of course is no longer a councillor, you can see Guy Lambert's updates on the front page of this Forum.
