Thank you for singing praises to the 'fantastic' public transport arrangements in Brentford/Isleworth area. I thought so too, having lived in Brentford for the past 9 years - until my children were allocated primary school places at an Isleworth school. It is impossible to get on a bus during the morning and afternoon rush, and on those rare occasions we did manage to get a bus my children were pushed about and I was verbally assaulted. Although a mile and half walk is healthier and cheaper for me, this is not what my skinny 5 -year olds need at 8 o'clock in the morning, especially given the abysmally inadequate and plainly dangerous pavements on Twickenham Road in Isleworth. There are 6 primary, 3 secondary schools and a major hospital on the stretch of the road between Brentford High Street and Isleworth War Memorial, and I believe a lot of parents don't choose to but are forced to drive their children to school due to poor public transport provision. And unless something changes soon I too will be taking that 'chelsea tractor' of mine onto those already congested roads. Not out of choice.Ulrica, there are plenty of free parking on the residential roads just east of Busch corner only a couple of minutes walk away.
