Thames Path behind Heidelberg Building - Brentford

Hounslow Highways have upgraded the Thames footpath behind the Heidelberg building that connects Ferry Quays with the High Street.  They have done a really very good job in my opinion, replacing the metal railings and landscaping the area and replacing the concrete damaged path with very nice stone.  It looks really great, feels safe and clean and is great to have the Thames path brought back to life in this way.  Have a look when you are next passing and enjoy looking at the MSO boatyard at work on the barges and narrow boats - really interesting.

Lights were working two days ago Guy, agree its all looking good, apart from the Bellway walkway where no work appears to have been done since the building was occupied....

The arrangement with Hounslow Highways includes maintenance and cleaning of the path for the duration of their 25 year contract. I have already alerted them to some graffiti and asked for bins to be installed (they have agreed) and the street lights to be fixed (they said they'd do it but I haven't checked yet).Next step is to get the Thames path extended properly past the new developments (one done, one still closed off) and I hope in the foreseeable you'll be able to wander along the Thames/Brent riverbank uninterrupted from Kew Bridge to Morrisons - or further when Ballymore get their act together.

This place is pretty good with a decent bit of TLC.A good scrub and clean and regular basic care is all that's needed.Chucking wads of money at costly schemes never seems to get the desired results and again unless regularly maintained end up looking crap in no time.Rather than fines and asbos and a slap on the well protected wrist, it would be good if better ways were found of dealing with those who misuse and abuse to bring them round to respecting their surroundings.

They've done a great job.  I just hope the council keep on top of the graffiti so it continues to look great.

Great to hear,Last time I walked there it was alive with vermin and rubbish.One feels for the people whose job it is to clear up such an unholy mess.Will go and take a look the view of the boatyards is a gem in this town.More good news after 5 years out, Streetlight no 15 in the St Pauls Park footpath has been fixed.
