Homecare Petition - please read and sign

Please sign this petition for a better deal for the homecare workers/carers who tend to be on the minimum wage and are often not paid for the travel time between their vulnerable service users. There are new NICE guidelines but those are just guidelines. These need to be implemented so that we have a better provision for those who want and need homecare. Not everybody is going to be able to pay the cost of residential care.£600+ per week.  Life and death often don't go according to plan.Please read the petition and sign.  Thank you.https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/108789

It is exasperating.  The youngsters don't know how to wash up and dry.  The tea towels are used for hands and the hand towels for everything.  They haven't been taught which way round to dry sharp knives so they don't wreck the tea-towels and don't use coasters on the polished wood tables.A relation about 20 years ago had to teach the carers to build and light a fire as she had no central heating.

Another one from Age UK which finishes sooner than the one above.Age UK provides a lot of very important information on what is going on in this area with lots of signposts of where to go to get the help that you need.There aren't enough carers coming into the system because the pay and conditions are so poor.  Many of the best are stressed and hard-pressed as they show youngsters how to do the job only to find that the youngsters don't have the experience and expertise to take the responsibility and so leave and the experienced staff have to start all over again...  We now have youngsters who can't boil an egg or make a cup of tea when they leave school, let alone make a sandwich.      Please don't allow your youngsters to fall into this category.http://www.ageuk.org.uk/home-and-care/care-in-crisis/
