Story Separator Survey on Parks and Open Spaces

Survey for Hounslow Council Leisure and Cultural Services to help them understand what residents think of the parks and other public green spaces across the borough, how they are used, how satisfied people are with them and how to improve them.http://www.brentfordtw8.com/default.asp?section=info&link=http://neighbournet.com/server/common/hounspol193.htmSlightly flawed as some of the questions say to tick as many options that apply but will only then allow 3.

I had heard that Planning Permission along that section was denied,if that is so then surely this illegal eviction of Houseboat Owners can be cancelled.On the other hand I had also heard that these Developers have again made application!! So do Hard Working Houseboat Owners get evicted so that "Yachts" can reside in those very same Moorings!

Yes! There are 2 Boats that look like a Scrap Business near to Watermans,however the other Boats are assuredly in good nick also the "Watermans Park" is kept very tidy and greatly appreciated by all.New Residents should appreciate that if they wanted a view likened to Regents Park they should have moved there especially if they think they should have precedence over Brentonians.

A lot of people have forgotten that the river was hidden by a 25ft wall and was full of coal cranes and heavy barges.The site was gifted to the people of Brentford by North Thames Gas as a park or amenitiy and eventually it was.Houseboats are being shoved off the river and canals by huge hikes in mooring fees making living on a boat often 3 times more expensive than living on land.Mr Curran and Co...Labour.. Yes caring Labour seem only to care about making a few quid and chucking a few more coals on the housing crisis.He and those compatriots keenly involved should hang their heads in shame.It's purely a cosmetic exercise for the benefit of the wealthy with carefully worded quotes to avoid the true facts.One can only wonder how this was a done deal so quickly but then again the Leader often does 'done deals'.

I don't know the full story but some of the boats are in a bad state of repair, some are still lived in but I think think there was a post  about them not paying for there mornings even though the boat owners have offered to pay a mooring fee.I also think there is a bit of pressure from residents who have only been here five minuets, saying they spoil their view. The old gas board should have left the old gas works there,they would of had no view and a real nasty smell to put up with

The House Boat Residents mooring off of Watermans Park Tow Path have been giving until end of month to leave otherwise Baliffs will throw them off without any belongings! LBH also has a very special Injuction to which they will apply for!Does anyone?anyone at all actually know if LBH own that part of the River Thames? How could they throw off Residents whose boats have been there for over 60 yrs,for instance Betty Marsden Carry On Actress lived there with her Husband & Children some still live on the boats! Does that length of time not mean anything & why evict one lot of Houseboats to enable 14 other Houseboats to moor in that exact place! Ah! I see there Rich while the others are just pardon me! mediocre!!Someone must know the answers! please share:-)

TfL are just the same. The concerns over the changes for Ealing Broadways bus connections were completely ignored in the half baked consultation.So they have gone ahead and implemented it and created a total scene of chaos replacing what was at least organised chaos.Just what idiots thought separating Brentford bound bus services from serving one central stop to two separate stops 80m apart was a good idea? Now people wait in between to hedge their bets and stampede en masse to the first available bus.  It's a crazy melee and quite dangerous in the dark rush hour evenings.Consultations are a waste of money if arrogance is going to override common sense input.

You could have some respect for these people if they were to simply say: "We're in charge, we have a mandate, we don't believe in consultation, go away".It's in the pretence that the real underhandedness lies.

Its a real shame this "survey" has not been advertised more widely so more residents would be aware they are at a serious risk of losing their green spaces but no real surprise as any consultation or survey in this Borough seems to be conducted in an underhand manner

I looked at "Regeneration Plans" projected up to 2030,Gt West Rd was mentioned Hounslow,Feltham alas no actual mention of our little Town Brentford. So what is going on???

Left off Brent Lea Recreation Park also LBH appear to have completely omitted any mention of Brentford.Now why is that! they also have forgotten that the Island adjacent to where the River Boats at Watermans are has an extremely Rare Snail & it's illegal to go on it.

Not even a mention of St Pauls' Rec and Watermans Park.Watermans Park has already been part 'sold down the river' on the quiet by this bizarre marina project.A labour council hounding people out of the the best option to hand to reduce the housing crisis - Houseboats.And what do they offer? Housing on land subsidised by the taxpayer. Housing that is already in crisis of supply.Just to allow the river to become the reserve of the wealthy.Over a 1000 homes have been lost on the upper river in just 10 years, and all to suit luxury developers who are now claiming rights to river walks including parts of the Queens Silver Jubilee river walk.And councils are all to happy to do deals.Cllr Curran's keeness to add to the homeless plight of the less well heeled stinks more than the river at low tide.If he were really genuine then a new generation of houseboats would be an acceptable solution.But genuine initiative and pragmatic creativity is not in their ability.

How have they chosen the parks to include? Is there a criteria I missed? Concerned that they will have a survey to quote statistics from but which does not represent all the parks, so by default, the omitted parks will fair very badly!

Unfortunately I have just tried to enter the Link & it comes up with "it's been removed" so whats going on? Now that you have made it Public are we not to be permitted to fill in the Questionnaire? Are they so frightened of Public Opinion? once of course that the Public are made aware of such a Survey???

Please would as many of you as possible fill in this survey. This has pinged up a big red flag.Brent Lea Rec is still under threat from Floreat school as will all parks and open spaces be and up for grabs by the council if they are deemed to be under-used.
