Flu jabs

Posting was prompted by the front page article.  We were very pleased to find out that we could have our flu jabs at Tesco pharmacy instead of booking into our Dr's surgery.  Son has been having his there (paying) for several years but we have previously booked in to the Dr for ours.  It was interesting to read that there is a nasal spray version foo.  Let's hope they get the strain right this year!

The chemist doesn't charge if you are eligible for a free flu jab at the Dr.  This was Osterley Tesco.  The two pharmacists are very hands on.  I find chemists to be very helpful, particularly Mr Curd in South Street.  When the boys were little and we had had a locum call out ending with a prescription I would always check with Mr Curd about the prescription and dosage giving their age and weight.  Several times he said the prescription was wrong and our Dr then amended it for us.

I avoid these jabs like I would a dose of flu... mind you I don't use public transport much, which is where lurgies are passed on I shouldn't wonder.The cynic in me also thinks that as pharmacies and gp's get £10 (I think) for every one given they are bound to promote the take up of them.

I agree.  A very timely reminder.  One day the Dr's surgery will be able to link your visit for other check ups with a flu jab.  We have taken advantage of walk in flu jabs at pharmacies in recent years although eligible for free flu jabs for which we would have to book at the Drs.
