Sewing machine lessons?

I am an absolute beginner looking for some lessons starting with the basics.  I do have my own singer sewing machine.  I live in Brentford.  Please email me!

You may find the book  Fashion with Fabrics helpful  it was written after the BBC programme Sewing Bee it is full of useful  information and has patterns  included, although these have to  be separated from a chart. If you are not confident  with the machine try sewing with no cotton and paper that you draw strait and curved lines Good luck

BTW great sewing machine shop in Hounslow, just before the main high street. Has loads of useful stuff and staff well informed and helpful.For good material shops head to Shepherds Bush market and Goldhawk road, also great one (v cheap) near Hounslow West.Happy Sewing!

There is a great class for beginners based in Ealing near Hanger Lane which I attended over the summer. Classes are taught in small groups 4-6 maximum which was great for lots of 1 2 1 interaction.There are other classes and the teacher was really helpful with ideas for where to source cheap materials and getting bits for projects. For my wife and I we would like to get some basic training with a view to progressing towards pattern reading and use etc.My wife has some basic skills already but I feel that working as a couple we would achieve a lot more.

You could take a look at Badger & Earl at 14a Sutton Court Road, Chiswick.  Their website shows various sewing and craft classes and may have a class to suit you.

Where is the nearest sewing machine shop?  Where do you buy sewing materials?  Perhaps those places can help?How about BRAG?  Maybe someone who belongs to them can help/will know of some other leads.
