American Football to be played at Twickenham

As soon at the amount of concerts began to increase year on year I knew we were on a slippery slope where Twickenham Stadium would be used as much as possible throughout the yearI am a massive sports fan and do not mind the occasional concert but this is getting a bit silly now especially with all the traffic restrictions and inconvinience we have to experience for each event

Couldn't agree more, both local authorities need to be more pro active in re-establishing a working relationship.

It's a shame because in my experience the RFU is not unwilling to work with local authorities, but its business is rugby and entertainment and if councils cannot be proactive in trying to establish an efficient working relationship with them then it is unlikely to happen.

I hate to sort of say "I told you so", but a lot of potential problems could be ironed out by resurrecting the resident's liaison committee. I think we're all sensible enough to understand that a great big stadium needs to earn its keep, but it has to do that in conjunction with the local community, it really is up to both Richmond and Hounslow councils to hold the RFU to account and make them work with local businesses, local residents, transport companies, police etc. so that the inconvenience is managed. Something they signally failed to do with the RWC.
