Wheelies...AGAIN

Apparently, my 'Upper Flat' in Mafeking Avenue is perfectly suitable for a wheelie bin....mmm....no side access either....how do they work that one out!!! xx

Agreed but not just run-down but violent Britain.They are often misused.  We'll be safer without them.Tunnel-vision may not allow that.

It's nothing more than pure common sense.They were not designed for terraced streets with no side or rear access.Ironically these things have become a symbol of run down Britain favoured by overseas media.So this is how Hounslow want to present the Borough to the world.

Put the above into google and up comes a site somebody has posted on Facebook - I don't know when but presumably recently.A quote from the site says: 'Mr Curran told getwestlondon the council was happy to talk to residents associations in streets where the wheelie bins were proving unpopular. He said it would consider redistributing those bins to other areas.' Presuming he did say this, just when are the Council going to talk to resident associations and can details of any such meetings be posted on this forum please. Thanks.

I'm in upper flat in Mafeking and the front such as it is is mine but I can't see how I can put 1 of these in there, I've just signed the petition against them.

So other than the fact that mine is an upper flat, and the front is not mine, there is already two green boxes, a white plastics bag, and food bin outside and the front has a lip on hte edge so I wouldn't be able to get the bin out anyway...but my property is suitable!  It's a joke!xx

Not just lining the street - but a lot of them will be lining the street EMPTY!  We are supposed to be REDucing our waste - not increasing it and these monstrosities are not suitable for many areas and are already out of date.  We should be looking for newer and better solutions.

Appalling. Of course it would always be possible to share one with downstairs. Even so, do you want them lining the street 365 days a year?
