Why is the local drinking water tasting so foul today?

No just today....but quite a few times recently... I've noticed that the drinking water here in Isleworth tastes as though its been given a floride? or chlorine additive.A visitor remarked that the tea I had served them tasted odd. They too had had the same problem in Slough!What's going on?  We gather that local water has been recycled through plumbing and bodily systems some five or six times...but is this additive needed because of.......well I daren't think about it!

Jim, It's for exactly that reason(it's someone else's recycled,treated urine coming out of the tap)that I haven't drunk it for years,unless in the form of beer,tea or coffee.When I used to return to Lancashire,the first thing I used to do was have a pint of tap water(it used to be piped in from Thirlmere)as it tasted beautiful,with no unpleasant aftertaste that water in hard water areas has.Alas, the water is now piped in from recycling plants and is bog(no pun intended!)standard like in: most other places.:-(

Expect Pepsi to launch it as a new product any day now then,should be an improvement on their other effort,Dashani ? was it?,proved to be less pure than tap water!
