Brentford and Chiswick Citizen of the Year?

I think it ought to be Paul Slattery for standing up to the bullying ways of this local authority and how a pair of cowardly,bullying, snides have manipulated to have him silenced. I wonder how they can sleep at night.He has inspired and stood to be counted up where many of us should have but didn't.I hope he has a Happy Christmas.

I entirely agree.  Of course, this in no way exonerates Councillor Curran or his contemptible misuse of his special relationship with senior police officers to try to bully somebody he had identified as a local community activist.By way of a contrast, imagine for a moment that one of the people present at this peaceful and harmless protest had been a Tory councillor.  Does anybody imagine that Curran would have acted in the same way towards that person?  Not a chance.  There is "opposition" and there is opposition.Once again the intense loathing that he and his local party colleagues have for Hounslow residents who dare to take an interest and get involved has been clearly demonstrated.  In spite of their protests to the contrary it oozes from their every pore.

I wonder if the bonhomie of the Christmas/New Year season has given the Dear Leader time to re-consider his daft pursuit of Paul Slattery?

Agree, this would be a great idea.There are many who are trying to stand up to some of the nonsensical decisions being forced upon us. Paul Slattery is one and deserves recognition and support for what he is going through.

Could the moderators of this forum be persuaded to run some kind of competition/petition to turn Raymond's suggestion into reality?  It would send a clear message methinks.  Just a thought.

I agree Paul Slattery is to be thanked for showing backbone and humour in the face of the intransigence and bullying of certain members of Hounslow Council. I would also like to mention Joanna Russell for her campaign to protect Brent Lea and Tamsin who is doing all she can to fight against the barmy closure of Church St. in Isleworth. Thanks to all of them for refusing to let themselves - and the rest of us  - be cowed.

I think we all know who you mean as numero uno 'culprit' but I really can't think who the other one would be. Maybe in the spirit of the season it would be better not to say.P.S. There are a number of people I have heard say that you don't really exist (or that you post under a false name) - can this be true?
