Who wants a 32 Storey "tower" on Chiswick Roundabout?

The developers presented their project to IBAF last night. Unfortunately the Chair decided not to allow questions from either councillors or members of the public. To be fair it was 9.30pm and many people just wanted to go home.Take a look at what is proposed by using the following link:http://democraticservices.hounslow.gov.uk/documents/s122658/Chiswick_Curve_Planning_Presentation.pdfIf you want to protest against the granting of planning permission for this huge and inappropriate edifice then you are welcome to attend a meeting arranged at short notice at the Chiswick Memorial Club (Bourne Place just off Chiswick High Road and Duke's Avenue)on Wednesday 27th January K.O. at 7.30pm.The project goes to the Hounslow Planning Committee in February so time is short.Further equally massive projects are lurking in the wings for sites all around the Chiswick Roundabout. Please help us keep these developments on a human scale that can enhance rather than blight people's lives.

I share your cynicism. Most of the perimeter of Chiswick Roundabout is scheduled for re-development in the next few years. There is little or no guidance in the local plan so it is open season for architects and developers wishing to make "bold statements". We need a bold new vision of our own that takes account of what the residents of Brentford, Chiswick, Ealing and Kew actually want.  If we cannot "hold the line" the whole area will take on the sterile look and feel of the "Blade-Runner" cityscape that you can experience as the centre of Hammersmith.Why is so hard to see that residential space should be away from dangerous and polluting roads and that commercial office space should be located close to other businesses?  All are welcome at the Campaign meeting at Chiswick Memorial Club on Wednesday at 7.30pm.

How come the nice Planning Presentation brochure shows a site picture that is around 10 years old? P6, and one notable for missing a lot of recent developments, and none of the proposed developments.Are they really saying the 'Chiswick Curve' draws on the Georgian architecture of the Strand on The Green, P26?'Massing Concept'. P24 should really just say, 'as much as in humanly possible and we think we can get away with'.

I do hope local people will be made aware that the B&Q site is also to be sold to developers should this development be green lighted.Approaches have already been made and some people within LBH are already aware.Or will this be a bolt from the blue as well?

Hi Vanessa - I agree. Bizarrely when local resident David Tennant recently wanted to add an extra floor to his home on Chiswick High Road he was turned down by the Planning Committee [isn't your house larger on the inside etc]. Now just a few hundred yards away we have a 32 storey building that officers apparently "like".Funny old world. See you on Wednesday?

Why not get some very expensive P.R. consultants to persuade you all that you really would like to have this in Chiswick? You might think that with something so prominent a special meeting could/should be held, not for the Chair to stifle discussion, democracy Hounslow style.
