Wheelie bins of Windmill Road

We'd just like to extend our thanks to our wise councillors for the wheelie bins, delivered today, in the attractive hue which can only be described as Soviet Grey. #slummy

I understand from a witness that this 'major incident' took place over less than a couple of minutes.  And it seems there were quite a few witnesses in more than one location.If it does end up in court, It is likely that it will be more awkward for the instigator of mistruths and manipulation than it will for the person being blatantly victimised and intimidated and will leave the Police with a few awkward questions to be answered.It's a shame that it has caused a distraction from the real issue of these bins being so obviously unsuitable in these streets. The mess and problems are too many and so many people are far from happy. But now they are scared to even complain.Nice work LBH & Co.  It will no doubt be remembered come the next elections.

Although I have not posted for a while I have 'tuned in' a few times and read some of the stories with complete amazement.  This one where the local residents decided to play Lego bricks with the newly-dumped-on-them wheelie bins, and where the local Police were somehow involved in an arguement they should, perhaps, have observed rather than joined in. Feel for the poor man in limbo.  Very poor reflection on other hard working Councillors and a total shame.The wheelie bins are a very strange shape as well as a horrible colour.  Tall and weedy they will probably blow along the street by catching the wind, and bending to get to the bottom bags is far more difficult than just picking off the top bags.  I am going to have to buy long handled cleaning brushes to reach the bottom when they need a scrub out.  I know they are designed to be lifted onto the dustcarts by machinery but I can't see that happening as it will take too much time.  Fingers crossed that somebody injects some common sense into Pauls life. X

Why is this matter taking so long to resolve?"Whatever the reason, I do hope it isn't about keeping Paul in limbo with a view to stifling his campaigning activity. I would not like to think the local police force was in any way complicit in the squalid political machinations of Curran and his administration.

To be fair, I'm not so sure that the wheelie in Braemar Road you are talking about is always put out for collection so while it may appear that it is put back in place, I don't think that that is the case - it just hasn't been moved! I hate wheelies though and have made my feelings known from the start. It is a fact that some continue to put out a small bag of rubbish per week as before and it is taken - the bin men do not want to have to be dragging a bin out into the road, hitching it up, emptying it and then wheeling it back to the house (or, as they do - whether they should do or not - leaning into the bin to take out half a carrier bag of rubbish) and I would say that between the bin men and those for whom this circumstance applies (and who do recycle) 'we know best'.I understand that for those with larger households or indeed for those who don't recycle, the wheelie may be just dandy. For others they are a totally redundant carbuncle sitting on the doorstep 365 days a year.Meanwhile we wait to hear the fate of Paul Slattery. Why is this matter taking so long to resolve?

These have really made the streets look untidy and run down.At least the black bags are only out for a few hours, a day at the most ( as long as the collection is on schedule) but these dark grey bins are so prominent in some streets and homes that they dominate what were nice well kept streets and they are just dumped everywhere and old way.Some stay out on the pavements for days on end, some are often laying in the road and pavement.Some are stuffed full of waste and smell vile.Yet despite all the 'rules' on the leaflets nothing seems to be enforced.But take a look at how the bin is emptied and returned at a certain house in Braemar road.  Not the same as with every other house down here.I wonder why.
