Bias from the Borough Chronicle?

Just seen another letter published in the 'Chronicle' from a Church St. resident claiming the Church St. closure "has immeasurably improved the quality of life; not only for people like me, but for the wider Old Isleworth and Isleworth community". Apart from the fact this man must live down a large hole or never leave home if he believes that crap - why is 'The Chronic.' not publishing letters giving the opposing view? It has done this for the last couple of weeks. I know that several people have written giving a different view and have not been published. This is obviously part of the 'fight back' that was planned by these selfish individuals at their meeting of Feb. 15th. I have noticed also that Church St. residents are upping the ante with the number of vehicles they claim passed through, I have seen both 3000 and - in this letter 2,600 - cars a day mentioned.Whilst this correspondent waxes lyrical about the "restored sense of community in the street and local area", the rest of Isleworth gets the added traffic, accidents and pollution. Talk about sod you Jack pull the ladder up.

Well, Anne when one of my sons comments on something like this then you know it's a cheek, you do have to wonder what passes for editorial sense at The Chronic. It's insult to injury.

Letter waxing lyrical over the charms of Church St. and how the space created by closure could have tables and chairs and stalls there. Not only that, we should all take to bikes or walk or use the bus, never mind if you have a couple of kids are elderly or disabled. The fact the buses are stuck in the bloody traffic due to the closure seems to have passed this opinionated twerp by. The the writer advises 'selling it' as a 'peaceful alternative to overcrowded Richmond'.This kindly soul who also happens to live in Harrow - also seems to believe we will 'learn to cope', isn't that nice? I suggest he bogs off back to Harrow and keeps his opinions to himself, what a moron. Why did a local paper print this tripe anyway?

Sadly, Local papers are devoid of proper local journalists. Completely unable to research and do the leg work that reporters used to and get to the truth of matters.Now they are glued to screens and simply rewrite the endless press releases and stuff spewed out from PRs.People kick up a fuss about infringements to their rights and freedoms but the real damage to our freedom is the strangulation of a free press and the demise, like the milkman of proper reporting. editing and journalism.And boy! don't some know how to take advantage of this void.
