caravans

I've just seen a load of caravans parked up on the  wasteland at the back of the high st over looking the canal,anyone know anything about them?

Just heard that the caravans are back in Brentford,behind the high street in Brentway near the bridge.

It's also important for everyone to realise that if they pay to have their rubbish taken away by an unlicensed waste carrier - you know the type that rings the doorbell and offers to clear anything - and the waste is then dumped illegally and is traced back...  the originator of the waste as well as the fly-tipper can be prosecuted.

Good job the rubbish is on Ballymoor's site. The problem is the rubbish left after each visit by the travelling community. Who pays? When they visited Gunnersbury it was the local rate payers. It cant be that hard to chase the owners of the caravans as by law as soon as they arrive someone has to visit them to find out the health of young and old. Plus there is always a police presents. Number plates? Go after them and charge them. They always have cash and brand new vans. Can't see a problem If we drop litter or don't pick up dog mess we could expect a fine. They leave loads of rubbish and nothing happens.

Had a walk down The Ham after work and yes they have gone just loads of rubbish on the site now but not sure if some of that rubbish was already on the site before the travelers set up camp.

As I understand this - it is not down to the council but rather the landowner to solve this problem. I should also point out that council tax has absolutely nothing to do with funding the NHS.

and if by they are causing problems on The Island you mean the gated development off the High Street then this is untrue. If you mean another island then unlikely that caravans would have made it onto it or perhaps you are being incredibly witty (unlikely) and substituting Island for Ireland?

Im saying that the travelers still use the NHS where ever they set up camp and they dont pay any council tax so can i opt out of paying council tax and still use the NHS please.

I don't think the stories are true. There's a lot of scaremongering going on.  The Island seems its normal, peaceful self.

True.Ive just had a walk down The Ham and Brent Way and all is quiet at the moment but im told more of the travelers have arrived over the last day and are causing problems on the Island and around the High Street well thats if the storys are to be true.Im thinking of ringing Hounslow Council and asking them to let me off all the bills i pay each month but still use the NHS. I wonder what Hounslow Councils answer will be?. Those travelers are taking the p*ss because they can.

Beware, There have been people snooping around Lateward and Grosvenor Roads and looking up alleyways.The trouble is that as soon as travellers arrive, others up to no good take advantage of it, often they are not associated with the travellers.But either way people must keep a good eye open and the Police must be pro active and not their usual complacent selves as has been seen with the amount of low level vandalism inflicted all over Brentford of late.

Yes, good luck.I guess they will pollute it as travellers have done before to other locations locally, but until then (probably about 24 hours), good luck to them.You must remember that this wonderful development has been promised for about 30 years now; the whole area has been laid to waste by the council and all Ballymore have achieved to date is some wallpaper on the building facades as you approach the high street from the Boston Road.

We have some camped out on warren farm next to our horses, they might be linked to them as I reported to police and they arrived Thursday, think they are the ones evicted from Acton and maybe the ones you saw have been stopped from joining them?? Not sure but I know more tried to get in but police had arrived by then

No,they are on the land behind shops in brentford high st facing the dock estate.I noticed them when walking over the pedestrian canal bridge this morning,apparently they turned up yesterday.
