Assuming you were not present at the scene either your own view of events, every bit as much as ours, is mere speculation.You make your case well, as always. However an old saying about silk purses and sows' ears comes readily to mind. If Curran did not wish that Paul should be charged by the police it might have been a good idea had he not 'phoned them in the first place, bearing in mind that his actions in doing so were clearly over-the-top and unnecessary. And in any event the case for the prosecution simply could not be made without the full co-operation of its star and probably only witness.I'm sorry, but one doesn't need to have been present during this incident for it to be obvious that Curran is involved up to his neck, even if the eventual decision to bring charges was down to the police alone. There is not the slightest doubt in my mind that this is intended as a shot across the bows for people like myself, who work outside of the political bubble for positive change in the community. The message is clear - mess with the Dear Leader, and the full weight of the establishment will be brought to bear.Should the charge against Paul Slattery be upheld I will be taking legal advice with a view to possible action against Curran for the similar incident which took place outside my home, and which he was in the thick of. There will, after all, have been a precedent set, and as it would appear one can simply choose which participant one wishes to bring action against then he will do for me.Should the charge not be upheld I hope Curran will be man enough to do the decent thing and resign.
