Techno rave in Boston Manor Park

So the Licensing Committee have given the go ahead for this event.  How strange then that tickets have been on sale for months and their website has all the pricing details.  Does this lead the way for more such events and how much does the Council make from this ?  Anyone any ideas - thoughts.

I was told that they expected/hoped for 10,000 people to attend but only 5,000 people turned up for the event.

Just had a walk through the park and it all looks okay, the fencing around the wooded area is still in place so can't tell how that is but all in all have to admit it wasn't as bad as I thought. Having said that I wouldn't want it more than a couple of times a year.

I was shown around the venue on Friday and was most impressed by how professional the organisers were. I drove past yesterday evening (not at a critical time) and all seemed to be calm, and lots of helpful signage on BMR. I don't know if the park will sustain much damage - there were really thorough measures to contain things to the specified areas - and there is a £10000 bond to cover the cost of any reinstatement.I was not on the relevant licensing panel but I understand there were quite a number of petitions in support of the festival - more than those against.

I have to admit that although we live close to the park the noise wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be.  The problem was parking but as we weren't planning to use the car it was okay.  Haven't seen what the park looks like yet.

Okay let's agree to differ. I was born and still live in Middlesex even though it's part of Greater London. One day in the year of a techno rave in a public park isn't going to alleviate your boredom for the rest of the year.

let's rephrase in this way. West London offer more relaxed and better quality life-style compare with area like Camden, East London (Shoreditch), Clapham junction and Commonat Ealing Broadway  and Richmond it used be the o'Neills pub with live band and now nothingat Action it used be the RedBack Tavern, it used be a little bit trash but it was greatChiswick offers mainly resturants. There is not Revolution anymore Brentford has still to develop his night life but I love the local pubs :)

Wrong! Middlesex is used to be a county but now it is part of Greater London :-). So technically we are in West Londonalthough we got TW as post code.......but Richmond has TW too and it is considered West London :-D https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middlesex#Creation_of_Greater_London

Agreed..it is generally greener and less built up than many other parts of London. If you are bored, it may have more to do with you than the location.

I agree that West London Is boring but it has the best quality of life in my opinion :-)

I spoke with a colleague of mine who is an expert of techno music and he told me that the line up of Junction2 is really good.They usually perform in Berlin and best European techno club....

It will be interesting to see if they can organise it properly to minimise the annoyance to residents and see the park returned to it's normal lovely state afterwards.I'll be planning ahead for that evening :)
