To be entirely honest Jenny in my personal view there's less of a community spirit within Holland Gardens now than there used to be say 10 years ago.I'm one of the few people left from when the development was first built and back then I used to know a fairly sizeable number of residents, we'd have an annual summer BBQ in the communal gardens, gatherings at people's flats etc. Whilst the RA committee works hard to keep everyone informed, it's usually the same faces at meetings etc. and many owners from afew years back have either sold up or now rent their flats out. And (I feel as a tenant myself I can say this) unfortunately many tenants don't seem particularly interested in the community side of things and are rather selfish. For an example, my main role within the committee is being responsible for the gym and although there's my contact details on the noticeboard at the entrance to the gym, I probably hear from a resident maybe once every couple of years or so nowadays, whereas 10 years or so back I'd be in much more regular dialogue with people.Don't get me wrong, I've lived here 13 years and I'm still happy there, but I don't feel the same sense of 'community' that I felt here 10 years ago - it would be nice to get that back.
