73 year old woman attacked  by Brentford Dock

The story of this poor woman is on the home page but there is no description of her cowardly scumbag assailants.I wonder if it was the same bastards who stabbed that chap on the A4 at Osterley or the gang that attacked that schoolkid at Busch corner?Seems to be a lot of it about lately....

There is a report in one of the local papers,Ealing Leader I think, of a mugging in Chiswick undertaken by a short,blonde white kid and a tall,skinny black kid. The same slimeballs who mugged this lady perhaps?

Jim I agree, there are some really bad people out there who thankfully are in the minority. Then again, how many MP's and how many senior police officers have told us month after month and year after year that the level of serious crime is falling?

Gareth: thank you for your suggestions.I still plan to follow up this case as the idea of young children attaching a 73 old woman, knocking some of her teeth out, and pinching her purse...to me is a shocking crime that deserves full attention.I have ask the Policeman involved in the case to ring me back...but so far contact hasn't been made. I'll try again soon.The crime was serious in my view. Terrible to read in the local Press of another person being attacked in Lampton Park in daylight hours and robbed.I've never known of so many crime cases in the last 40 years. Even today one of my vans had windows smashed and door locks damaged beyond repair. There are really too many crazy people on our streets.

Jim I seem to recall that Brentford councillor, Cllr. Patrick Edwards sits on the ALG Crime and Public Protection Panel. You also have Ann Keen, Councillor Mohammed Chaudhary, Councillor Ajmer Dhillon, Councillor Mohinder Gill and Councillor Amritpal Mann all sitting on the Hounslow Borough Community Police Consultative Group. You could always ask Ann Keen directly when you see her out and about on Brentford High Street. No doubt she’ll be there, hustling for votes – then again, its cosier in Covent Garden I suppose. If you don’t get to see her in Brentford, drop me a note, I’ll e-mail you her address. You might stand a better chance of getting a response from her if a letter is addressed to Brook Road than if it were to be sent to the House of Commons.

I'm interested in following up this story... to find out exactly where it took place...and to find out if the Police have been able to make any progess in finding these "scumbags"

Keith:More information. There is a front page article in the BC&I Times."The 73 year old victim" (who lost teeth etc etc !!)" described two of her male attackers as a white male aged around 13, with short blonde hair and ugly looking, and a black youth with fairly light skin, who was very polite.""Another witness to the attack said there were two white youths, one mixed race youth and an Asian Youth, all male and aged around 15 years"So Keith, three news reports,...and only one with the information we all need.  Should this website be leading the way...and producing much greater detail to help catch these blighters before they do something more serious. just wait till their short of money again in three months time.  And I don't suppose that the poor lady will be too keen to take another walk along the towpath ..even if it is in broad daylight!In a few weeks..this news item will be off the front page. If there was a comprehensive Police Information page to which we could all refer from time to time..perhaps we will feel that these matters are being taken extra extra seriously.....on this Community website.

Keith : No mention of Colour or Race in the Chronicle article.The police Officer who is inviting enquiries and information is Det Con Gavin Bolt on 020 8247 5940. He should be requested to post more information about in on this website ...just in case one of our readers looks out of their window ..and spots a group looking like them.Surely it should be annoumced at Schools  with a reward for information offered.!

Very good idea Jim.I don't get The Chronicle,but may start.Doesn't say whether they were black or white,what they were wearing,hair colour etc.Any idea that helps the police and rids the community of a***holes like this has got to be good.

Keith: thanks for highlighting this matter...which was reported in slightly more detail in Thursday's THE CHRONICLE.The Chronicle reports that the 73 year old lady was on the Canal Towpath...near the Brentford Lock..is that the one near Brentford Bridge or the one near Brentford DOCK?It occurred at 5pm ish last Saturday."Police believe she was attacked by gang of up to four youths, aged between 12 and 16, who stole her purse"..and bashed her about."One of the attackers was much shorter than the rest of the Group and Police hope that this fact might help pinpoint the youths involved"Its frightening really because its the type of walk I like to do on a Saturday afternoon ..after the Farmers market say. One reason some new people are settling into the area is because of the local walks etc etc.  Horrid beasts.Keith: You may have triggered again something that I wish this website to do.  That is to upgrade it, to encourage its  more usefulness. We need a proper Police information page..just like Chiswick's and Hammersmith's with details of suspects still sought etc. If crime is still an important issue...lets keep Brentfordians better informed.I'm sure the new Borough Commander will help the Webmaster do that.Ok?
