Quite frankly had we still been waiting for Cllr. Curran to organise the public meeting and 'working party' that he promised we'd still be sitting here twiddling our thumbs. What people do in this borough seems to be in spite of the council and not because of, or with, it. We have been exceptionally lucky with the people of both boroughs who live near the park and who have shown themselves willing to get involved and give of their time, and for that we are very grateful. Obviously there are a minority who have misgivings about the proposals from their perspective, we have been at pains to stress though that nothing is set in stone and changes could and possibly will happen as the project progresses, but on the whole the feedback has been incredibly positive and supportive. We will be working with officers from Hounslow and Richmond boroughs and the local church to make this a truly public space to be enjoyed and accessed by local residents of all ages, we hope that many local families and schools will find that this is a great asset. It will be a long term project but if the commitment we have now carries on we will get there eventually.
