Over Zealous Parking Warden in Albany Parade

Is this fair? I parked my car around 9.30am in the Albany Parade car park - almost empty of cars - to take my cat to the vet in an emergency.  Before I could return to my car with my parking ticket a warden was issuing me with a ticket.  When I explained to the warden  I had literally just arrived & obtained a ticket he remained silent and walked away, I thought he had realised his mistake and was not going to book me.  30 mins later when I returned to my vehicle I had a ticket on my car.  When I wrote to Hounslow Parking to appeal they replied that I had parked over a line of the bay (which I wasn't aware of bearing in mind the empty car park) and therefore they wouldn't cancel it.  Surely the Warden should have told me when I asked him.  The time on the PCN was 1 minute before the time of my parking ticket.

"What is the contravention code on the ticket ?"My thought too.  To match the reasoning in the letter that rejected your challenge, it should have been code 86, "Not parked correctly within the markings of a bay or space".  It would be worth looking online at the photo evidence to see if you really parked across two spaces, or whether you just had one wheel touching a line.If it's not code 86, tell us what it was, or write to me at parking10@rjen.me.uk It occurs to me that a near-empty car park should make it easier to park within a space.

No one likes getting a parking ticket but I don't see how this guy was being 'over zealous'. He was doing his job, and has probably heard the 'I only just parked here a minute ago' mantra a thousand times. Parking across bays is a no-no imo.

I have been in Youngs at Albany Parade and the person before me got a ticket while in with the vet. There is/was a notice on the desk at the vet's reminding you to get a ticket and they do/did sometimes ask you whether you remembered to get a ticket but this, of course, in the end is down to the customer. Best just to get into the habit of getting your half-hour freebie.

Oh dear.  I have never seen a parking warden at this car park so have never had a worry about getting the free half hour ticket when dropping into the vet or the chemist which specialises in disability aides.  It has always been very relaxed and supportive of the group of small shops there.
