skateboarding on Magistrate Court Square

Good morning Yesterday evening around 18:45 I was walking around the high street and I noticed 4 teenagers that were practising with their skateboards jumping on the all seating areas and performance stage.I don't think that was the initial target to make a skateboard park this area plus this sort of activities can cause damage of the site.

Well said Adam. I don't get the impression that anyone wants to stop kids enjoying themselves, but that square cost a fortune and is not perhaps the right place for skateboarding or very safe if it comes to that. Some people just like to wind things up for their own amusement, little things and all that.

How can you suggest to people that they 'grow up' after repeatedly calling someone a 'mug' ?  - particularly after they've expressed a point of view politely and quite reasonably.You're right in that we were all kids once - had I as a child congregated in a public square and been riding my skateboard up and down benches then my Dad would have given me a whack and told me to go to the park.You're also right in that there are bigger problems in the world, but forums like this are for discussing local issues which some might see as important, others might see as trivial.You might want to review the code of conduct for posting,  although knowing NNet you might be heading for a ban.

odds on that isn't a problem, this is in fact my real name and I am a Brentford resident.coming to realise how sad and aggressive some of you are over such miniscule things are insane.the fact your reporting a few children for riding their skateboard in an area they live in to the council!!I'm shocked a lot of you sit and agree. we was all kids once, then if the kids was in the park it would be their destroying the park! come on get a grip people and realise in life there are bigger problems !grow up please.

For once there was going on a normal and civil discussion without offensive comment but it seems that in 2016 it is impossible have a conversation on line without ending in argument in forum like this or Facebook (but I guess Trolls are everywhere)Ok le's play the usual game so I DID not refer to the back of the "dirty Brentford highstreet"  but to the main square in front of Magistrate Court which has been regenerate recently I hope it is clear now.

I agree that the boarders should be able to have fun and locally.But the benches are getting damaged and splintering from the boards and this is not what they were intended for.What happens when someone gets a splinter lodged in a leg or elsewhere.Who's fault is it then?Just needs to be something that's a safe location for kids to board. Just like others cycle or kick a football around.

I used to swim at the Gurnel and I have to say that skate park is really good.not bad idea to build one at Boston Manor under the M4 I also have to say

Yes i saw them on Sunday and to be honest it didnt bother me but i can understand why people living around that area where they were skateboarding were bothered by the noise. They could just jump on the E2 bus to Greenford and get off at Gurnell Swimming Bars as there is a very good skate park and bmx track there it was only built a few years ago i wish it was around when i was younger as its very good.

Need to use some of that section whatever money (106? to give them a skateboard area.  Maybe get them to help design it.  If they only use it for a small part of the week, maybe we could use it as seats, the rest of the time.

Nothing against kids, I Fully understand their needs but I am sure you would not like to have kids practising with their skateboard on Trafalgar Square or Piccadilly Circus.The council refurbished that part of the high street with tax payer money and I assume it was made in that way for different purposes than skateboarding My suggestion is that they can go where I used to go where I was kid: PARKS :-) they is St Paul Recreation Ground or Boston Manor Park nearby

Can you make a positive suggestion as to where they might go, otherwise?  Seems we expect children to tidy themselves away and these children are being active, working together socialising, not being rude, just being children.  Can they have a small section designed at a local park with seats or benches they can jump on and over?  Do they really have to move on?

This has been happening, on and off, for months now. A while ago, my wife and I politely suggested to the teenagers (maybe the same ones?) that they find somewhere else to skateboard. They were polite enough, but just waited for us to walk on and continued skateboarding.
