Andrea has written many books on the local area. The ones still in print can be bought at the Treaty Cebtre Library in Hounslow as well as other local history publications such as the history of the Q theatre.Carolyn Hammond is currently working on a book Brentford then and now. Comparing photographs of sites old and new of sites in the towm.Gillian Clegg is working on a Brentford pubs book.Local heritage guides run walks all over the council area.

Sally: thanks for that very interesting posting...and I hope to go to some of those talks. Andrea is full of information...and I heard her for a short while at the History Society meeting in Chiswick when she described in great detail the opening of Kew Bridge by Edward VII. (1904 ish). The pageantry along Chiswick High Road..and all that.Oh for a tape recorder..and send the cassette to Ann.
