It's supposedly all about being able to send copies to local libraries so that people can look at the applications there, now admittedly I'm not that familiar with LBH libraries but don't they have computers with internet access (or least access to LBH's website) ?.Whilst I appreciate an non-computer literate person might struggle, is it really justified to use that as the basis to waste thousands of pages of paper everytime a major application is submitted ?.And it goes further than that, I currently work for a large company and thus I can get a secretary to print all the documents out (I'd be more than willing to do it myself but a client isn't going to pay my hourly rate for me to print out 2500 pages - indeed I still had to go back to my client to agree a fee uplift to cover this additional request), but if I worked for myself this request would necessitate a considerable amount of paper purchasing, use up lots of printer ink, not forgetting the lengthy time it would take - basically if I was working as a one man band such a request would be seriously damaging to my business.Something Councillors should definitely look into, it is hypocritical when applications are scrutinised so closely for sustainability measures etc, yet the actual submission process flies in the face of both that and national planning guidance about electronic submissions.
