Exaggeration or what?

Leafing through the Chronicle/Informer I came across the sales pitch for 'London Square' situated on London Rd. Isleworth. either my knowledge of the local area is wrong or the selling agents are telling porkies.I quote - "Here you have the best of both worlds: a lively, attractive area, a stone's throw from the shops, restaurants and transport links to the City, yet also close to the River and the leafy open spaces of Kew Gardens and nearby Richmond Park". Not by any stretch of a reasonable person's imagination could London Rd. be described as being 'close to the River and Kew Gardens', let alone Richmond Park.  And just where is this 'lively, attractive area' to be found?

It is noticeable that in most advertising, and in politicians visits, Hounslow as a place, does not exist.  Who goes to Hounslow?  If one of us ventures there, into the Centre of our town, the conversation goes something like, "any better?".  "No".So it is not surprising that Isleworth is near Chiswick, Kew or Richmond, because that is where we go to shop.  It is also near Kingston.

Much as such marketing nonsense is laughable, putting myself in the place of the poor sod who has to write the marketing blurb for that particular site I'd struggle to write anything that would entice potential purchasers !.Such as :'Close to the tailbacks and associated pollution on Twickenham Road resulting from the closure of Church Street.''Near a small parade of shops, including a Tesco Express, where both on and off-street parking is a nightmare.""An uphill walk alongside the busy Spur Road to the only station nearby, Syon Lane, from where slow moving services trudge along and take 35 minutes to get to Waterloo, and during peak hours you'll be squashed in the carriage like a sardine from Chiswick into London and out again.""Conveniently located for West Middlesex A&E when the realisation dawns that you're going to spend the next 25 years paying off the mortgage to live in a shoe-box".

You'd also have to go some to throw a stone from that development to anything resembling a major shopping parade.
