Bus gas roof ripped off

Yesterday evening, I think, a bus hit the bridge on St. John's Rd and the roof was ripped off good and proper. The driver must have been going like the clappers. Photo in the on line Chronicle. A nice chap I know who works at the shoe repair kiosk at Tesco Osterley was on the bus and he said the driver legged it afterward.

There were earlier tweets in the afternoon that the driver of the rail replacement bus from Hounslow appeared not to know the way to Isleworth and Syon Lane. I am puzzled as to why a double decker would be trying to negotiate St.John's Road. One hopes that NetworkRail ask proper questions about who gets the contracts for the rail replacement services and the training, specifications and risk assessments that are carried out.
