fireworks til 3 a.m.

Does anyone know who was responsible for the fireworks on Sunday night that could still be heard in Lionel Road North at 2.45 Monday morning (31st Oct)? Are these events subject to any regulations? Is official permission of some sort required? Are any time restrictions imposed? I would be very grateful for any information. Thanks.

Of course, Adam, there will always be idiots and you cannot do anything about those, but this was obviously a big, organized event for Diwali. Wouldn't it be wonderful, Gareth, if we did not need people to enforce what are after all just commonsensical rules of respect for others? Why can't people show a little restraint, do a little self-policing? No one seems to know how to behave in public any more.

Indeed, with fireworks I think we have to accept that a minority will set them off at all hours without any consideration for others and in most cases it's impossible for the powers that be to do anything about it (because it's just a random person letting off a firework as they walk down the street).  Annoying nonetheless.

Truth is - you can have all the rules and regulations in the world - if you haven't got the people to enforce them then they're useless.

According to Hounslow’s website fireworks are allowed for Diwali until 01:00 and until midnight on 5 November for bonfire night.
