In terms of price comparisons, there is bound to be a difference in price between online retailers and local businesses - local businesses have to pay for premises (rent, rates, electricity, cleaning, display stands, redecoration, signage and goodness knows what else) all of which give customers a chance to see the goods first hand, feel the quality, check the colour ... etc not to mention build a relationship with the retailer when fixing services such as fitting. It seems to me that there is a price to be paid for all these benefits. I thoroughly approve of people who want to support local independent businesses. It might be worth asking them what they charge for fitting to see what the difference is in your case.
